TBA getting dirty with Botsford Station

On Saturday, August 21, TBA Collective will collaborate with Botsford Productions in being part of the first event to take place at Moncton’s Botsford Station.

Botsford Station is a 99 year old warehouse on Botsford Street still in development of being revived into a multi-user space for progressive-minded project management and lifestyle. The building currently harbours wheat grass and sprout growth, screen printing, welding art and design, a conference room, video production, woodworking, workspaces and a multi user venue space for events.

TBA Collective is proud to be a part of bringing this old building back to life. Artwork from different members of the collective will be exhibted as well as live art from Pascal Leo Cormier onto Something Delicious who will be wearing their wheat pasted canvas shirts.

The event also includes live performances by:

Something Delicious www.myspace.com/somethingdeli
The Nancies (Fredericton) www.myspace.com/thenanciesmusic
The Homosexual Cops (Montreal) www.myspace.com/homosexualcops
Pascal Leo Cormier www.pascalleocormier.com

The building is located at 232, Botsford Street. Doors open at 9pm, Show starts at 10pm, Admission is $5.

As an added bonus, Something Delicious will be performing at the Moncton Farmers’ Market that morning, at 11am.

TBA Collective *hearts* Messtival attendees

From the bottom of our hearts, we’d like to thank all the attendees, bands, volunteers and any one else lightly or heavily associated with TBA Collective and Messtival 2010. The event saw a slew of awesome bands from the region perform, a good bunch of attendees having a blast, an impromptu but oh-so-psychedelic and amazing light show, a crystal clear sky and a bunch of wonderful memories. Thanks to the hurricanes for staying away, too – much obliged.

The TBA Crew.

Something Delicious/TBA mini-Maritime tour!

On July 16th, TBA Collective’s Art Stand & Something Delicious attacked Gus’ Pub in Halifax in the face for the No Flyers Please EP Release party.  Also taking part in the event art The Bad Arts, as well as Halifax’s art unit UAG Collective, who although, do to live art not being allowed in Gus’s, didn’t get to collaborate alongside TBA Collective with live arty-ness, still had many high fives and good times, promising an explosion of future live art and music collaborations. Click here for the Facebook event.

Halifax-based, live event documenting group organizers of blogspot Noisography, were there to catch the fun and you can see their article HERE.

On July 17th, Something Delicious headlined the Rock The Glace Bay Skatepark show, alongside some kickin’ bands like Static in Action, Myles Deck & The Fuzz, Ricochet and a bunch of others. Syndey based artist, Gwen Aker was there to paint live art on Something Delicious’ wheat pasted canvas shirts as well as exhibit some of her peices on the TBA travel artstand.

Gwen Aker is currently offering an artist residency at the Elephant Head Gallery in Sydney, Nova Scotia. In order to apply, send a CV, brief bio, and an explaination on how you would benefit from and use the space to: gwendolynfaker@gmail.com.

MESSTIVAL 2010 LINE-UP!

The TBA jury has weighed in and considered over 60 submissions from a whack-load of bands from all styles and genres! It really makes us wish we had the resources to stretch this out to more than a one-day-one-night festival.

That being said, we’re super stoked with the line-up we’ve selected,

Upcoming events, current notice, reflections on the recent

Hey everyone!

Mario here from the TBA Collective. Just wanted to give you a little update on our comings and goings, as 2010 has quickly announced itself as being a busy one for TBA. Here’s a summary of the soup-pots we’re busy with:

L.A.M.E. zine release!

Jonah Hache’s been working tirelessly at the first edition of the L.A.M.E. zine (Local Art, Music & Eccentricities). Seriously, his insomnia’s pretty interesting. On June 18th, he’ll unleash it to the world to read and get more smarts in them. Yep! With that, there’ll works from nine artists, two live artists and three bands to keep things audio-visually stimulated. Click on the event link on the sidebar for more info, check “attending” in the Facebook event, and then show up and have a good time. Sounds pretty easy, no? Here NB ran an article on the event a few weeks back, and everything’s getting set for the big day. It’s also my staff party that day…so don’t expect me to be coherent.

TBA hits the Highways Tour 2010

Several TBA members have just returned from our week-long tour/research/vacation/learning experience. Passing through Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto, we got a chance to showcase some amazing artistic talent, make contact with some awesome people in every city, enjoy the weather and the towns, and have time away from our jobs. We got to showcase art from nine talented people, as well as our home-made portable art stand and print stand, and play various interpretations of Something Delicious. All in all, we’ve amassed a bunch of adventures, a slew of contacts with resourceful, intelligent and creative people, several nice records and t-shirts, a gazillion pictures, and even a couple of violation tickets. Thanks muchly to garbageface, Pete Pritchard, Ryan Ringer and the MeThinks/Project 165 crew. If anybody finds a fanny-bag for Jonah, please contact us ASAP!

MESStival 2010 Deadline Fast Approaching!

As you know, MESStival 2010 is taking place August 7th in McQuade, NB – on the outskirts of Moncton. What you may not know is that the deadline for bands, artists and volunteers to apply for Messtival is on June 23rd – in two weeks. So download those PDFs and sent in those forms!

TBA’s doing some farming!

TBA Collective will be present in all its Saturday morning grogginess at Moncton’s Farmers’ Market this summer. On July 3rd, we’ll be showcasing many of art we brought with us on tour, and market-goers will be graced by the morning breath of Phil Flowers. Later in the summer (On Aug. 21st), Something Delicious will be performing an acoustic set at the market.

TBA’s gone rural!

On July 8th, some of the collective’s members and close friends will cruise on down to Memramcook for an evening of calm and delight. At the Galerie Rouge-Gorge, operated and curated by Guy Gautreau (indeed, my brother), we’ll be exposing some marvellous little art works and have a few acoustic acts.
