Career Development
The program is designed to recognize and encourage arts professionals who have demonstrated exceptional artistic talent and potential, and who are pursuing a career in the arts. The program is divided in three components:
1. assistance to present work by invitation in established arts events
2. assistance for participation in residency opportunities of four (4) weeks and less. The artists in residence are to contribute to the promotion and understanding of the arts by means of the artists’ contact with the clientele of the establishments
3. professional development scholarships for studies

Strategic Initiatives Fund (SIF)
The Strategic Initiatives Fund (SIF) program provides funding to assist in covering some of the cost of projects/activities/initiatives that uses innovative approaches in order to strengthen the economic/strategic contribution of the cultural and artistic sector in New Brunswick.

Socan Festival Grants
DEADLINES: MARCH 1, 2010
(for festivals held July 1–December 31, 2010)
SEPTEMBER 15, 2010
(for festivals held January 1–June 30, 2011) Music festivals that feature the music of Canadian music creators and performers are considered for support. Applicants are encouraged to include workshops for songwriters and composers in their festivals. Concert music festivals may apply under Event and Project Grants.

Integrated Arts Program for Artists
DEADLINE: 1 May
* Increase knowledge, promote and support diversity, plurality and (or) hybridity of practice as demonstrated in the body of work of an individual artist or within an organization’s programming.
* Support both contemporary and traditional work, and (or) the integration of contemporary and traditional work.
* Support artistic excellence in works, processes, professional development and research methodology, while taking into account the local, regional and (or) cultural context.
* Support relationships and collaboration among artists of different disciplinary and cultural backgrounds.

Artists and Community Collaboration Program in the Visual Arts
DEADLINE: 15 April
This program awards project assistance grants to Canadian, non-profit organizations and collectives with a primary mandate in the contemporary visual arts. Grants provide a contribution toward projects that bring together professional artists and the broader community for the purpose of giving the visual arts a stronger presence in everyday life.
Artists and community collaboration is an arts process that actively involves the work of professional artists and non-arts community members in creative and collaborative relationships.

The Collective Initiatives Program

Offers funding to:
1. a) aid in educational and professional information sessions or seminars.
2. b) aid for regional and national initiatives that promote various sectors of the Canadian music industry simultaniously.
